Create News

This guide explains how to publish news for your group or location.

What is News?

News are general announcements, e.g.:

  • Announcements and reminders
  • Information about daycare routines
  • Event notices

News vs. Parent Letters

News are for general information and do not require a response. For communications that need feedback, use Parent Letters.

Create News

1. Open News Section

Click on the news icon (megaphone) in the header.

2. Create New Post

Click Create News.

3. Write Content

Create News

  • Scope: Choose whether the news should be visible only to a group or to the entire location
  • Group (for group scope): Select the target group
  • Title: Headline of the news
  • Message: The content (Markdown formatting with live preview)
  • Valid until (optional): Date until when the news will be displayed

4. Publish

Click Publish.

Manage News

In the news list, you can see all news with:

  • Title
  • Publication date
  • Scope (group or location)
  • Author

Edit

Click the edit icon (pencil) next to a news item to modify it.

Delete

Click the delete icon (trash can) next to a news item. Confirm the deletion.

Read Receipts

As the author of a news item, you can see in the detail view:

  • How many parents have read the news
  • For group and location news: Which parents have read it and which haven't
